Europcar South Africa is pleased to have achieved an improved level 3 BEE rating from NERA, an independent SANAS accredited rating agency.
The Europcar BBBEE verification certificate has been issued in accordance with the Tourism Sector Code. The Tourism Sector code has been developed to advance the objectives of the BEE Act no. 53 of 2003.
Europcar’s new rating means that their customers are now able to claim 110% of their spend, with Europcar, as Preferential Procurement spend. The certificate is available for inspection or downloading here.
Europcar is delighted by the receipt of the result as it is an objective measurement of the significant progress they have made towards empowerment.
Empowerment remains a high priority and Europcar intends to make use of additional avenues to increase their BEE status, keeping them in the forefront of transformation in the industry.
It is Euorpcar’s strategic imperative to focus on all elements of Black Economic Empowerment which directly contribute to the economic transformation of South Africa. Europcar’s transformation initiatives are not solely concentrated on equity, but also extend to all other areas of the business. Some of the areas that have been prioritised are from enhancing representation on EXCO level to preferential procurement, skills development and enterprise development.
Europcar South Africa is committed to transformation and empowerment and will continue to pursue and enhance all facets of empowerment in their business. An integral part of this is their positive contribution to the wellbeing and development of South African society through their socio-economic development contributions, skills transfer and enterprise development initiatives.
